You know the batman jingle bells song: ‘jingle bells batman smells robin laid an egg…’ children still sing this, which makes me wonder who keeps teaching these things to children? I’m envisioning a league of evil/awesome teachers who take a kid aside and share with them the lyrics to the Popeye song. They don’t even air that show anymore how is it spreading?

In which Arkansas is successfully navigated
As we check back in with our intrepid Hero’s we find them having successfully completed a return trip through Arkansas. While always on the lookout for signs of undead roadkill and other fearsome beasties known to reside in the area the mind does sometimes wander. Important issues were raised. Arkadelphia? Undead roadkill? Noodling? One had to wonder how people actually live here though I...

So I realize that kombucha is the greatest thing known to man and will change my life in countless ways. I try to like it, I can deal with the soggy mushroom thing but I just can’t get past it tasting like carbonated vinegar.

Dear stupidheads
Dear all the bands I like, Why are you going to Europe this summer?  I feel that it would be much better if you were here with me.  We would have all kinds of great times. There would be drinking, singing, dancing, and all kinds of other great things that end with ‘ing’ like showering (which I hear they don’t do) what could be better than that?  Love David Ps. They use the...

My family seems to know what I like.  most the gifts I received fall into one of three categories:  Books, Dinosaurs, and disappearing into the wilderness.                 had a fantastic meal and a good christmas all around, hope you all have had the same.   Anyways, its Christmas and that means its time for doctor Who.                                                                            ...

Some of you may be aware that I’m trying to go back to school this spring after a seven year “break”. It’s not the easiest process due to the damage I did to my transcript back at covenant but I do have a small chance of getting into UTC. At this point I’ve gotten in all the paperwork to them and in the next few days I should be hearing back from them almost certainly...

whats the big deal about the tea party?
Why is everyone so concerned about the Tea party?  Are they loud and annoying? Of course.  Are they anywhere near the size of the two major parties in the USA? no not at all.   The Tea part has a little bit over 300,000 members, very loud and extremely annoying members but not all that many of them. they’re slightly larger than the Libertarian party or the Green party, smaller than the...

In which I give advice
Go to college once and get it done right. Trying to go back to school and finish your degree is ten times harder. The support that is currently in place for going back to school is laughable, consisting mostly of inspiration stories from people who finished their degree at the university of phoenix or one of those mailer adds touting their private investigation courses. Do it right the first...

In which I am excited
Picked up the new Brandon Sanderson Book The Way of Kings on my way home from work.  I’m pretty damned excited.  Reasons for excitement: 1) Brandon Sanderson is awesome, have you read the mistborn trilogy? The best new fantasy I’ve read in years.  2) It’s 1000 pages! this may be the most exciting part, books should be long!  3) This is part 1, I’m a sucker for a huge series...

In which there is a two hour wait
So memphis is not a bad little airport, but two hours of waiting makes for a very bored me. Things I’ve been thinking about lately… Is the physical institution of the Christian church as we know it really in line with the guidelines set forth in scripture? How can we make the daily Christian life more spiritual and less religious? What songs should I add to my zombie invasion mix?...

ancientbruises: sexismandthecity: Photo by J.
